Extended warranty on new truck worth it??

Buying a new 17 Chevy 3500 with quite a few electronics. Already has the normal factory warranty but they offered a extended 10 year-120k mile warrant for close to $3k. Supposed to cover Anyang that they don't consider normal wear and tear. Even covers wheel bearings and ball joints supposedly. It's a CNA National Z2 warranty. Can you negotiate the price, is this actually worth it? I actually PLAN on keeping the pickup at least the ten years. They said warranty is also transferable and prorated if we trade truck before its up. Vanishing 100$ deductible for any repair shop that isn't where we bought it from. What say you guys??? Thanks!

Re: Extended warranty on new truck worth it??

I'd ignore the "10 year" part of the deal as 120K miles comes pretty quickly in today's world. Folks put that much mileage on vehicles in a few short years. So, guess you need to ask yourself how long it would take to do 120K miles? My 2 cents. Good luck on the new Chevy!

Re: Extended warranty on new truck worth it??

I was able to get the warranty for $100 over dealer cost, so $500 off. I think/hope it was a good call with all the electronics now days. We don't plan on driving the truck a lot. Hope to keep it around 10k +/- a year since I will also be getting a car for my wife for back and forth to work 80 miles. The only component I am not fond of is I wish I could have had the floor shift for the T-case. I just never have trusted the dash knobs and buttons for 4 wheel drive.
