Blazer Width

Can someone tell me how wide the blazers are from outside to outside stock tires. I wanted to see what the minimum width between tandem axle wheel well trailer I could use without rubbing.

Re: Blazer Width

The 1970 Chevy sales brochure gives these specifications:

Wheelbase= 104
Length= 177&1/2
Width= 79
Height for 2wd= 64&1/4
Height for 4wd= 68 &1/2
That's without hardtop.
Height for 2wd= 68 &1/2
Height for 4wd= 72 &3/4
With the hardtop.

Re: Blazer Width

Blazer, Jimmys, Pickups are 79" to the widest part of the body work, the top of the fender lip to the top of the fender lip on the opposite side. If the truck has stock size tires the tires will be narrower than the body, if it's on 33x12.50s or some such (very very common) it will be likely that the tires will be wider than the body work and by how much all depends on the offset, so it's not a generic answer.

Re: Blazer Width

My blazer had 33x12.5 on it and it barely fit on a trailer with 82" clear width.. The tires actually rubber both trailer fenders to fit.
If it is tight you can also load backwards since the rear is narrower than the front.
