Rider's side gill vnts???

What purpose do the gill vents serve?

My wife asked what they are for, and I just don't know.

Thanks.

those vents on the right side are the air intake for a fresh air heater. if the heater is a recirc unit, there is a block off plate that goes on the inside kick panel

Those vents are an important part of the heating, defrosting & ventilation systems.
