47 GMC Front Axle

Currently building a 47 GMC. Truck body and frame is a Two Ton and I am wondering if anyone has used a front axle from a two ton and put 1/2 ton spindles on it. If so was there anything you had to modify or are the king pins the same. Any advice would be good, do not want to change the straight axle out if I do not have to

Re: 47 GMC Front Axle

The big truck king pins are quite a bit larger .
Scroll down to page 77 and you will find the specs on the front axle and king pins.

Save that link as you will want to go back to it every so often
