Post Your Factory Correct Restored 67-72 Trucks! (No Customs!)

I've searched a lot and I can't find a thread dedicated to finished 67-72 trucks that are restored back to factory correct standards. I know we have the Anti-bling thread, and a couple survivor threads, but how about a place for trucks that are finished (or nearly finished)? Lets see what's out there!

72cheyenneman has a beautifully restored truck. I hope he posts pictures of his truck on this thread.

Re: Post Your Factory Correct Restored 67-72 Trucks! (No Customs!)

I like this thread, and also prefer original, or restored as original vehicles. I have owned my 1972 Cheyenne Long Bed since March of 2004. It is Meadow Green and White. There are a couple changes from the way it left the factory. The original wheel covers were replaced with Chevy Rally Wheels and of course, radial tires. I changed the original worn out black interior with sandalwood, and re-dyed the door panels, dash pad and headliner with Meadow Green (Living in south Florida, black is HOT!).

My wife and I use this truck as a truck sometimes...it is not kept in a climate controlled box. We drove it to the mountains of North Carolina last April and brought it back packed with antique furniture. It has all the original firewall markings and a few chips, and oil drips that slowly get addressed.

My '70 C 20 as below looks stock but chrome is off to restore and I have Daytona black wheels and looks stock, hoping I can qualify here...chuckles, I love it's capability as is... to bring in wood, go to dump, and move people's stuff...a true hauler.

It seems as thoiugh 'factory restorations' are almost as common as chicken lips. . everyone seems to recall that there was one but no one knows who or where.

Re: Post Your Factory Correct Restored 67-72 Trucks! (No Customs!)

Thanks for the responses so far.

Here are a couple I've run across (I hope the owners/builders don't mind me mentioning them here.)

Beautiful 1969 by JQ-72: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=417564

Nice 1971 in progress by yote1234: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=616352

There are a few more but I'll have to dig them up later.

I could play this game if you can overlook a GMPP 350 (in place of the original 350 that was a money pit from day one), a fancy oak bed, dual exhaust, Hummer H2 wheels and add ons from 71s and 72s that weren't available in 69 such as AM/FM and tilt wheel. I have all correct hoses, hose clamps, original wiring straps (no zip ties), original T-3 headlights on the truck and even the Protect-O-Plate and original dealer sales contract with my name as the buyer. The upholstery on the bucket seats is original except for a few of the bolster panels. I still have all the original stuff for an eventual purist owner.

I did an original NCRS resto with my 58 Vette and just decided to have a little fun with the truck.

Here is mine I bought it about a month. Pretty original especially the interior. Wheel covers have been changed, rear work bumper installed, and it has clear coat but other than that it is stock. The white fornt bumper is getting chomed now and the rear is coming off and a chrome sport bumper going on.

Nice looking truck Already Gone. Cool color combo. I like the "rare for the time" color combinations where the roof is darker than the body. Are you planning to keep those caps and trim rings or look for a set of highlander caps to complete the theme?

Very nicely restored 1969 Olive stepper. Check the build thread to see how he matched the factory paint pattern on the underside of the cab. 67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=473165

Thank you for the compliment on my truck. I think the the Highlander Wheel Covers are ugly but have been looking for a decent set of P01's but haven't found any yet. I just bought another set of the other 80's Rally wheels ( see pic) that I had on my other truck and will be installing them on the new truck.
