Help with Vin number

When I bought my truck the seller gave me a bill of sale stating it is a '47. I have tried to decode the Vin but it makes no sence to me.

Any help decoding this ?

DBA 53 4499

Thanks

Re: Help with Vin number

Are you sure that's your vin? It seems to be one character short according to this - http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ca/full.aspx?Page=10

Re: Help with Vin number

I'm pretty sure...but anything is possible.

Would they be the same for the Art Deco trucks as they were for the '47-55? Mine is supposedly an early '47, the same style as the '41-46.

I would sure like to find a vin breakdown like that for the '41-'47's
