Re: project: 3/4 ton dropped

You might want to look up some of the 'first truck' stories on here. Probably pisses you off that the guy beat on it. But can you get it for a good price? You'll probably still be building cars in 25 years and you might be glad you still own your first truck. That said, you did a great job on it and you can do it again on a different one when you're ready. I've owned my first car for 30 years. Thought about selling it in college. When I got in the work world, all the "older guys" told stories about the ones they wished they'd kept. So I kept it.

Ill have to look into it. The guy smoked in it, burn holes in my new seat and carpet, wires hanging all over. And the worst of all he took off my chrome wheel well moldings and slapped in landscape edging inplace of wheel flares.. He used a self tapper every inch all the way around the wheel wells right through my $8,000 paint job.. And he wanted $500 more then i sold it for

Wow that's terrible. Sounds like if you decide to try to buy it back that you'll want him to have a more reasonable price in mind. Hopefully there will be a lack of interest at that price and he'll get ready to deal. The tough part is the fact that he didn't respect your work. And I'm sorry to hear about that. I think only time helps that, but feel free to rant and rave a little here. If anybody's gonna understand, it'll be us.

It ran awesome. When i first started it, the timing chain blew apart in within 2 min. I was warned not to use a "polyfiber" style gear but did it anyway.. turns out the cheaper one was better for some reason. So other then that it burned tires like crazy till I swapped it to full time 4x4.. haha
