Winner winner chicken dinner!

Ok so my lets start the new year with a contest was pretty much a fizzle *shrug* so I ended it early. But I do have these piles of prizes to give away (4) so this is how my granddaughter and I figured out how to make it happen.

Go through my 18 pages of friends and write the names down of the ones that showed online at the time of the search. Then go through the same pages and write down only those that have posted in 2019. That one took awhile so I had her do it, don't worry she was compensated lol. Then just have her point out ten. She was getting tired of the process ... Grandpa I thought I only had to look at the little pictures by their names? Sorry sweetie it took a little turn. Lastly out of the ten highlighted names I had her put a check mark by four. I asked her to pick one of the four and make a little star by it, that person gets the extra little prize. She was very confused .. Why, and how do I decide? I don't care, just star one, we're almost done and then you can go shopping with grandma. She makes a little star and beats feet outta here.

The four winners of a one year board membership are ...

FleetsidePaul

crossfire84

Getter-Done

kingsolver72

And the grand prize that Im still not sure what it will be goes to ...

Getter-Done.

Ill get ahold of admin and get this taken care of and let you guys know when
it happens. And Getter-Done Ill have to see what truck you are working on
maybe I have something in my stash, or who knows LOL. Ill let you know.

Thanks for playing gentlemen, even if you didn't realize you were playing

Re: Winner winner chicken dinner!

I just want to thank you for your generosity and say that your granddaughter is a trooper! I kind of remember the last time you you did something like this. It seems it was a photoshop of longhornman. It was a hilarious thread and Andy was a good sport about it.
Anyway, there are times I log on here and I am entertained, informed, buy a truck part I need or sell a truck part that I don’t need. I’ve seen people do some of the kindest things here. The prayers and engaging others that go through very difficult times. The people of this board and the people that make it happen are why I like hanging out here.

So, thanks again Mark.. just the fact that you and your granddaughter considered me in the running means a lot to me!! We been “friends” here, although I’ve never met you in person for a few years now.

Re: Winner winner chicken dinner!

Over the years I had a lot of goofy contests and the one photoshopping Andys pic had a ton of funny submissions.

This one was supposed to be ... You figure out what being a board "friend" is and change your avatar picture to something a 13 year old girl would like. We did this years ago when she was around 8 (?) and there were tons of guys that wanted to win and changed their av pictures. It was very funny when you logged in and instead of trucks or "manly" av pictures guys had barbies, puppies and kittens, etc etc that would appeal to an 8 year old. People that weren't in the know could not figure out what the heck was going on, and new people logging in to the board for the first time were the same lol.

But Ive tried doing a few things over the last couple of years like we used to do and its just like I said, fizzled. Different times I guess, no biggie, I just wont bother doing any more. Maybe the proliferation of a million other social media sights has changed things up around here?

I remember the last one as well. I wouldn't say that this one fizzled because after all you were able to spend some time with your grand-daughter. My grandson is 6 years old and I don't get to see him too much because they live out of state. Any time with them is good. Thanks Mark.

I feel pretty blessed when it comes to the grand kids. We have seen our granddaughter as much as we want since the day she was born. Even though she is 13 (we keep waiting for the too busy/cool to hang with her grandparents lol) we text and talk several times a week. And she spends a lot of time here at our house.

Our grandson (6) recently moved further out and he's maybe 45 minutes or so away. But his mom (my sons ex) is super great about us spending time with him. Sometimes Ill run up to their place after work and he and I will grab a bite to eat and just hang out. He made a nice Christmas ornament in school and his mom said you can give it to anyone he wants, and of all the people in his life (tons) he chose us =)

So I feel for you not being able to see your grandson a lot, just make sure you keep in touch via digital media of some sort. Another thing to do once in awhile, is to grab a box at the post office and put some fun stuff in there ... Shirts, hot wheels etc, and send it to him. Kids love getting stuff in the mail. Even a postcard if you are on vacation somewhere.

Ill get you guys taken care of this week sometime....Mark

Re: Winner winner chicken dinner!

I wasn't sure I knew what you meant by board friend or not. I feel we are friends and we do have "friends" here like FB does, and those are certainly "board friends". I just wasn't sure I got it and it seemed the point was if I'm a friend I'll know... so didn't feel right asking. The other thing is I no longer have a copy of my avatar pictures, I love it, and don't know how to pull it up to save. So I don't want to change it. Sorry for not participating.

Click on your avatar picture with your RIGHT mouse button. When the box pops up click on "Save Image As". When the next box pops up look at the location window at the top of that box, that is where it will save the picture. That way you know where to find it. Click on "Save" and it will save it to your computer. You can do that with any picture on the board that you want to save to your computer.....

That's weird I thought you were already on my friends list. Doesn't matter, you are already my friend, and you already got your prize lol.

When you are on the main forums page and you go to the bottom you can see what members (not guests or member that aren't logged in) are online. If you look at the names and you see one with a little plus sign at the end of the name, that person is on your friends list.

That's great, Im glad you got it. Funny how the first issue you get has a Ford on the cover lol. Not 100 percent sure but looks like a 51. I do love the grills in those.

That is a Bias opinion though.
The ford is a 52. Appears that 51 and 52 share the same grill.
