Unhappy Window whiskers removale

I have played around with some old doors trying to find the right way for removing the window whiskers and all I do is bent them or screw them badly. I can see the way they lock in but when I go to take them out they seem to have a mind all their own. I am changing doors and the ones that are in my existing doors are only a couple of year old so I want to save and use them. What is the trick please.

OK, I'm dying to ask: what are "window whiskers"?

If your windows haven't shaved for awhile..errrr oh never mind. You know when you roll your window down and it stops at the bottom of the window opening in your door? You will see whiskers or felt on each side of the glass sometimes rubber on the outside. This stops vibration and stops water from running freely down into your doors. It looks like fuzzy caterpiller fir. Thems are they.
