bed question

i have fleetside 68 and my bed looks like something heavy was dropped in it and dented the floor pretty good. Whats the best way to go about getting it flat again?

Well, there's always this:

But, maybe you could put a block of wood on a floor jack, jack it up into the bottom of that dent until it starts to push back up, then use a BFH to shape it flat around the edges of the dent and so it stays up. Jacking in a few different areas may work best.

Just to add to Sean's reply (good advice, IMO);

I had the good fortune of repairing a rust free F%#D box that was beat so bad that the ribs were completely flat in places. I repaired it this way but, made a jig out of pieces of flat bar to the shape of the ribs and used that as a spoon for the BFH.
The areas at the braces will be a bit of a problem, though.

Depending on how the metal was dented, it probably stretched the metal. In order to move it back close to the original spot you will probably need to do some shrinking, This can be done a few ways. The easiest is kind of the direction that Sean was leading you, Jack it up a little, hammer around the perimeter of the dent. Jack it up some more, hammer more, etc. With it being off the frame, you obviously can not jack under it easily. You may be able to set it (on some padding) upside down and work it from there. Work it a little at a time. The main thing is to put some pressure to the dent and use hammer blows to "shock" the metal back to position. TAKE YOUR TIME!!! This is one where the turtle will beat the rabbit. And, good luck.
