Re: orifice tube

Chevy uses a Black/White .072" orifice tube.
Ford/Lincoln has used 3 different size orifice tubes over the years.
Blue .067"
Red .062"
Orange .057"

Try the Blue .067" first, Running to small of a orifice can cause high head pressure.
This is used as a band-aid fix for wore out compressors, to much oil, not enough freon.
A GM system thats in good shape & has the proper amount of freon & oil will cool great with the factory .072" orifice.
What year truck are you working on?

70BLAZERX2 posted that a '89 crown victoria would do exactly what you are asking. I dont know how to navigate around here to well but if you look up my old post, there is one in there about A/C issues. might help. I personally havent tried it. Im replacing my hoses this weekend so I might just go for it

The evaporator will freeze over in high humidity at those temps & the low pressure switch will cycle the compressor clutch in & out.
Are you sure its not low on freon? 96-00 vortec compressors are notorious for leaking!!!
