Sounds like the adjustment for the steering lock in the ignition switch cylinder might be off or the neutral safety switch adjustment/wiring. I have not heard of it ever before myself though.

tilt steering ? if so it could be real loose and need to be taken apart and fixed . very common problem on these style of steering columns .

also the ignition power switch is on the top of the column under the dash . it is moved via the long steel rod inside the column and the key lock switch . the ignition switch is slotted for fine adjustment and some times can be out of adjustment .

1 of these 2 or both together is your problem . this info is for 1994 and older saginaw style columns used by a few makers of vehicles like gm and older jeeps .

here is a pic of the switch thats more than likely out of adjustment . note the 2 slotted holes on the metal mounting bracket .

Dearest, I have found the problem! it was the screws of the ignition lock house of the steering column they! were loose.

By the way the head lights still won't work?? and when the hazard lights are one! and I push the headlight button on! they stop working?
only full green turn light indicators stay on! also when I turn the lever to the right or left the 4 turn lights goes on??
