tires for 16.5 x 9.75 rims

hey guys getting closer to being finished with my build and im starting to look for tires. i can get military humvee tires fairly easy but im wondering what other smaller sizes are available for 16.5s. the last tire shop i visited to get prices needed exact sizes and didnt really want to look anything up for me.

Re: tires for 16.5 x 9.75 rims

How tall do you want? 16.5 tires are getting harder to find but there BFG still makes 33/12.50, 35/12.50, and 37/12.50, all of which call for 9.75 rims. Generally, tires with a 12.50 width calls for a 9.75 rim. There may also be other manufacturers and other sizes.

Nothing under $200 for new tires. Even any bias ply tires are over $200. I just checked last week for my k20. Trevor

Re: tires for 16.5 x 9.75 rims

well im always messing around on tire rack and i finally found how to serach by rim size only. they have the BF goodwrenchs in 33's for $180 a piece. thats only 30 more a tire but i might be able to get a little better mileage out of the 33's. ive also heard from alot of friends that if you treat those tires right they will outlast most other tires. the ones on my dads work truck are up to 60,000 miles and still have tread left

Mileage on them depends the trucks weight and how you drive. My brothers f150 has around 40k on his set and they look good still. But on a friends f250 they lasted maybe 30k but he drives it hard and fast.

I just ordered a set of BFG 33X12.5 16.5's for $190 each at Discount tire, just over $900 for mount and balance all 4.

Re: tires for 16.5 x 9.75 rims

I've got the BFG A/T 33's.... Bought my last set a couple years ago in the mid $700 range... Cannot recall exact amount. I've always had good success with that tire.
