Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

Yeah going to stay in the neighbors house here in Fort Lauderdale kind of worded it wrong before, they live in France and are there now. They offered there house up to me it has a lot of updates done to the house to bring it up to new hurricane codes. Thanks for all the prayers,It's kind of calmed down around here I think everyone that is evacuating has left already.Last update has center of cone looking like it will come in directly off coast where i live,I am about 1/4 mile west of evacuation zone so its pretty close.

Here is a live cam a couple minutes from my house. You can watch it during the storm as long as it doesn't blow away.

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

I am east of Houston. I stayed home for Harvey and every other storm that has landed here for many years. the main thing is have food . stores will be empty for several days even if they don't flood.be prepared for no electricity. a boat would be nice to have. if you have high water do not flush toilet.there are many things iam not listing but use common sense. I did not flood at my house but every road around me was impassable for several days so I could not leave. GOOD LUCK

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

Stay safe! I'm in central Florida (Polk county) and my truck is outside and I'm in a mobile home. Spent the last 3 days trying to park it in someone's garage but no luck. Everybody be safe and remember it's only a truck, your safety is more important. I stopped worrying about my truck and started putting my efforts towards finding a place for myself, girlfriend and pets.

Re: Getting ready for Hurricane Irma (Going to ride it out)

I'm about 30 minutes outside of Orlando. Haven't really done much preparation. I am a Floridian and have seen Andrew, Charley, Wilma, ect... My 57 and the wife's 2016 Highlander are in the garage. I left my 02 Camaro SS in a parking garage so it would not be outside (normally the Highlander sits out). Just hoping no trees fall on my garage and the big windows on the front of my house don't take any impacts.

My x lives in the Daytona Beach area together with my x in laws. They can't leave because Pop Pop just broke his hip and can't even walk. Probably couldn't ride in a car anyway. This will be a bad one. I hope we're wrong, but...

Shifted west a bit now, headed straight for me. Figures, this house has been destroyed 3 times now by Hurricanes, roofs been off twice. Starting to think I'm a magnet for these things, this will be the eighth I think. Was in Homestead for Andrew where everything was flattened. Nuf said.

Ya'll stay safe down there. My Family is out near Bradenton and are staying for the storm, Like other people in the area they can't afford to leave. My Sister and her Fiancé prepared for the worst and took off for Indiana a few days ago, they said I-95 is a wreck and gas is getting harder to find. Praying for everyone.

It looks like Fort Lauderdale is not in direct path of eyewall anymore but still supposed to get over 100mph gusts. I hope everyone on west coast of Florida and in the path stays safe.
