Any one have a 1967 truck with 327 engine?

I am interested in information from those of you that have a 1967 1/2 ton truck with a original to that truck 327 engine.
I am also additionally very interested in one that was built sometime in the Dec 1966 timeframe (early 1967 truck built date potentially), just to get some info.
I am trying to determine a casting date in relation to a 12/20/66 engine assembly date, block casting number, cyl head casting numbers... among other things.

After some education from another board member (thank you SS Tim)
I am again/still searching for a 327 engine out of a 10-20 series truck with a K-xx-6 thru L-19-6 casting date.
One that the front pass cyl head pad is stamped V1220YH or shortly before such date, such as 12-01 to 12-19 would be awesome.
What this code means: V = built in Flint, Mich 1220 = Dec 20th 1966 YH = connected to a TH400 engine.
I am not looking for just any old 327 block/engine, as I have one or two already and have access to a few others.
I am kind of believing that finding a V1220YH (or slightly earlier) stamped block may not be as impossible as I originally thought.
So... Here we go !!!

I have already posted a WTB in the parts section.

Re: Any one have a 1967 truck with 327 engine?

Even a bare block can provide provide helpful casting number and date information.
So please check your hoarded truck 327s. It is important to note for this truck it will be a 66 casting date (example L 10 6). Any 67 casting date (example A 13 7) or 68 C20-30 "YH" coded 327 engine would be incorrect.

Re: Any one have a 1967 truck with 327 engine?

So far it appears based on what I have heard back in another post. That a 1967 1/2 ton (10 series) 327... would (so far) have the possible block casting numbers of:
3892657
3903352 - appears only to be used in Car applications, so this may not be accurate as it appear these blocks were cast in Tonawanda only, I am looking for a Flint Cast block.

Re: Any one have a 1967 truck with 327 engine?

And...
Tim, correct me if I am wrong here, but I am looking for a Flint cast block that was cast in late Nov 1966 thru Dec 19, 1966. Correct?

Are there any other specifics that play into things here?

Or, is there a better way to narrow it down to a block casting number I may be specifically looking for, such as Flint Only cast blocks?

Re: Any one have a 1967 truck with 327 engine?

I think a buddy of mine just took a 327 out of a 67 c10. I'd have to look at the numbers to see if it's what you're after or not. The truck was cut in half to make a trailer a long time ago and he bought the front half at a farm sale about a year ago.

It's a shame they cut it up for a trailer. 1967 c10 air, tach, pb, ps?,big back window, and 3:73 posi. All the chrome. Was a nice truck.

That would be great if you could check that out for me.
Kansas isn't a billion miles away from me either.
I might be interested in anything else the guy may have left of the AC, PB, PS stuff also.
also... I wonder if it was a TH400 truck.

What we would be looking for is:
Block Casting Number rear DS of block on top of trans mount area typically 7 digits.
Casting Date Code rear PS of block on top of trans mount area, typically a letter followed by a few numbers, such as L 10 6 (Dec 10th 1966)
Stamp Code on the front passenger side cyl head mounting surface pad just in front of the cyl head, just above the water pump mount. This will be series of numbers that will start with a few possibilities of letters; such a V, F, T, etc... followed by a date code of any where from 0101 to 1231 (I guess) 0101 being Jan 1st to 1231 being Dec 31st. Then typically followed by a letter or 2 or 3.

So, example being:
Block Casting number - 3892657
Casting Date Code - L 10 6
Stamp code - V1108ZA

Thanks for checking into this for me.

Well, everything was ideal until the V0309YH I am hoping to find a V1210YH to V1220YH stamping on the front pad. But the 3892657 was correct as well.

Well, both I guess. I am looking for information for the most part and I guess if the right engine came available, I guess I would be looking to buy. I have posted a Wanted To Buy in the parts section.

Information I am looking for is.
1) I am trying to determine what 327 block casting numbers all came in a 1967 1/2 ton truck
2) Get an idea of block casting date (rear Pass Side of block on flange to transmission mount) in relation to engine assembly date / stamp code (front Pass Side by cyl head mount surface). So far I have found one that was cast on Nov 3, 1966 and assembled Nov 4, 1966. But is this typical or are there ones out there with a wider separation of these dates.
3) I also need this same info for cyl heads, intake, etc... such as what heads came on what block and how close are the casting dates to each other (block date to cyl head date)

So, if I can find a few people with bone stock 1967 327's, then maybe I can get the block numbers, cyl head numbers, intake numbers, etc and have a pretty good idea of what I am needing to look for.
Now, if that bone stock 327 has got the numbers, dates, etc that I would like to have and its for sale for a reasonable price and not 1500 miles away in the wrong direction, then I would be willing to buy. But mostly in this thread I am looking for info.

Re: Any one have a 1967 truck with 327 engine?

So far that 3892657 is the most frequent block number to come up.
Your stamp code appears to be a V0303YR, which means: Flint, Mich - March 3rd - Powerglide.
I am curious to see the block cast date (rear Pass side on trans flange) to see when the block was cast in relation to assembled (March 3rd)

I just picked up a 1968 GMC 1/2 ton long bed with a 327. The number on the front of the block is V0110YK.

give me a location 67 cst swb. I mean picture I have not been this deep into factory #. If it is on the side of the block the heater box is in the way!

If the engine is in the truck, then it may be hard to see the cast date numbers.
As far as location. If you think of the location of the block numbers (3892657) the casting dates are opposite that on the passenger side. Although they will not be as large or as easy to read.
These are the numbers/dates I am most interested to find on a 327 with 3892657 block numbers. Hoping to find a L 10 6 to L 20 6 casting date.

Re: Any one have a 1967 truck with 327 engine?

I'll try crawling in there tomorrow.I'm interested also. I do know the powerglide is gone. had a turbo250 3spd when bought. I might be in the same boat only looking for a powerglide!

It's not a 327, but for those looking for the casting numbers here are pictures of the original 350 from my 69 that show the locations. The casting number (3932386) is on the left. The casting date (K278...Nov. 27, 1968) is on the right. My truck was assembled late the 2nd week of Dec., 1968.
