New (to me) truck

Just acquired this beautiful C-20. Hope pics show, if not I'll edit later and add.
Truck is numbers matching and really in great shape. Looking to have this in the family for a long time.

Re: New (to me) truck

Nice truck! "Numbers matching" is an overused term as it can't be proven one way or the other on these trucks

Looks GREAT!

Is this the truck?
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...postcount=2629

I posted it on the Craigslist Finds thread several days ago. There were several complimentary posts about it there.

Can you post more pictures? I'm sure everyone here would like to see them.

I agree. I do understand that it only means the frame, SPID and Title all match and that could mean somebody took the glove box door with the frame. I'm not an expert but I've owned a few of these and this is for sure the closest to original and unmolested truck I've seen. I'm happy with it and I guess that's what really matters, right?

Yes, it is that truck and thanks to your post I now have the privilege of owning it. I will post more pics when I get home. Thanks for posting it the other day, I appreciate your help. What pics would people typically be interested in? I know the usuals but is there any particular ones?

Re: New (to me) truck

wow...very nice.
You don't see many trucks that straight very often.
Many, increasingly, seem to be the backyard frame off 'rebuilds' which end up anything but straight....unlike your example.
Well done....more pics please!

Re: New (to me) truck

I remember seeing that truck posted a few days ago. I'm happy someone here got it. I love to see nice original C20's and C30's. We all have our own personal favorites and mine are the work type trucks with 8 ft. beds. I have a very nice original 70 Longhorn in Hugger Orange. Is that original paint on your truck? In any case she's a beauty and congrats!

Re: New (to me) truck

Awesome truck. I saw it on CL too, and was wondering if it looked as good in person as it did in the pictures. Sounds like it does.

Re: New (to me) truck

very nice looking truck. I like the "full foam seat" option on the SPID. What, did less fortunate trucks only get HALF of the foam in their seats???

Re: New (to me) truck

Interior Pics. Story goes that original owner was handicap and used a walker to get around. Had a camper or shell on the bed and drove to nearby lake and fished off the tailgate in the summer and hardly drove the truck otherwise. Guy I bought it from is 2nd owner and collected original cars but didn't have the means to fix them up much. He owned it for 8 years or so but kept it with a few Yenkos and Z28's and Caddy's (which I saw) in an old barn on his property. He drove it occasionally but not much, so he says. He also re-painted it factory white and re-painted engine (clean job) but all this was years ago when he first got it. It has air bags in the rear suspension which he says were factory install, I have no idea, you all would know more than me. He said the same about the front spot as well. Mileage claim of 46,000 original and some other parts of this may be a big story but here is what I do know, the truck is clean, rust free (very minor surface rust on chassis), body is straight (minor door alignment issues), drives great, brakes are new, bed looks original (I saw no signs of replacement in or under bed), and front end is very tight which could indicate mileage being correct. He replaced some items but seat looks original (he says it is, what say ye) but he didn't go overboard and he always used correct parts. It just doesn't look molested or messed with too much. It will be a great occasional driver for me, my wife and four kids. Hope to keep it a long time. Don't really plan on doing much to it other than preservation of current condition and general maintenance.

Wow! Very nice. Looking at the new-looking original Grill (not the GM replacements ), it sure looks like an original gem. Congratulations on the find.
