One of those "barn finds".......(1936 Ford Pickup)

I know its a Ford, but I think everyone would appreciate this. My dad just bought it today from the Civil Engineer I used to work with, and he is the grandson of the ORIGINAL owner...how cool is that. The truck was last insured in 1977 and has been sitting ever since. It was a farm truck so it has some dents and dings, but it is all there. We got it home and its already almost ready to start disassembling.

The crack out windshield it one of the coolest things about it to me. It works too!! Also, i guess this is where the term "floorboards" came from.

Somewhere between $800 and $1500. Jim, the guy my dad bought it from, is not much of a car guy and has no desire whatsoever to fix them up. He actually told my dad that he'd take $200 less than what my dad originally offered. I was shocked but my dad was happy.

Just bringingt home on the trailer it turned lots of heads. Its like they knew that we just had a barn find, haha. My dad is going to try and crank it up before he tears into it so we'll see. There wil be plenty of photos too.

Something else I found out last night is that my wifes Papa (rip) has a military jeep stashed in a shed somewhere on his property. I am going to try and get that from his wife if I can. It probably would not be too hard to get going since it's been running and operating in recent years. I almost could not sleep last night just thinking about it.

I'd be inclined to clean it up good, make it safe to drive, and run 'er just the way it is. There's something to be said for a true surviver!

Great Find!!

Re: One of those "barn finds".......(1936 Ford Pickup)

Litte update on this.

Got it stripped down to the frame rail at the moment. My dad pickup a 9" for it but we are still in the market for a MII frontend. We should be taking the frame to the sandblaster in the next month or two and then I'll start mocking up the suspension. The plan is to go back completely original except suspension and transmission. We would like to drive it on the Interstate safely, haha. I will get a couple photos soon.

This is what I want:

This is what my brother wants:
