Panel Truck Lowering Question

I want to lower the rear of my 61 Panel about 4".

It seems I have a couple options.

1. Get the HD lowering springs from somewhere like Classic Indisties
2. Get regular truck lowering springs and add helper bags for carrying a load
3. Get Jeep springs and add the helper bags.

I have a buddy who has a pair of old firestone bags I can have, and I have most of what I would need to plumb them to a Schrader valve. I almost never carry a load, and will never towing.

Whats my best option? Cost is a concern, but not as much as comfort and driveability.

Re: Panel Truck Lowering Question

Write off the Jeep springs. Way too soft for a panel. You'll likely be on the bump stops. I bought 4" HD drop springs from CPP. Haven't driven it yet so can't comment on ride or height. If going with truck springs, I would get 1" less drop to compensate for the extra weight of the panel. Helpers would be good if you want to carry an loads but keep the right height the same.

Re: Panel Truck Lowering Question

Thanks Mike. I think that truck springs May's be a little more comfortable when I don't have a load. Maybe I'll do the 3" drop truck springs from Classic Industries.

Re: Panel Truck Lowering Question

I was just looking around under the truck and I am wondering if there will be any issues with the pan hard bar mount hitting the crossmember that is right in front of the gas tank.

Also, I have about 8" between the axle and the frame, which is the same as the space before the diff hits the floor. I wonder if I will be bottoming out all the time with 3" truck springs on a Panel.
