I have a 69 c10
I am confused on what I should do with the complete wire harness.
I have a LS stand alone harness from BP auto
I am using a Dakota digital dash and Vintage air system
I also am installing a 67 front clip and fleetside box with no side markers
I have a stock fuse box but that is it.
I do not know if I should just find the missing pieces and use the box or go with a aftermarket harness and if suggestions are after market what brand and year should I be looking at ?

I have a American autowire harness for mine...a local builder all said that he uses and I read a lot of good reviews on them...if all you have is a fuse block id toss it and go with a complete setup..if you call them and tell them what you have and want I a harness ,they'll recommend one for you ..painless is another good one from what ive read...but costs more..the AA harness is a good looking setup

I have a 72 Blazer with an LSx swap and Dakota Digital gauges. I used the AAW generic harness and had the factory firewall opening smoothed. I ran deutsch connectors through the firewall. I am working on pairing the engine harness with the body harness now. If your firewall is stock, go with the AAW classic update kit. I ended up removing a lot of the engine harness from the AAW kit. I added wire to make my rear side markers blink (upgraded to LED). I upgrade the brake switch to a double output for cruise control.
Check the last couple pages of my build thread for some pictures. You're going to have some custom things to figure out....

I have a 6.0 Ls and factory 71 C-10 harness. The stand a lone has nothing to do with the factory harness. The stand a lone operates the motor & transmission. It has nothing to do with the gauges.

For my setup, the AAW has extra circuits for electric fans and fuel pump. The Engine harness had its own little 3 or 4 circuit fuse panel. I want to eliminate that one and use just the AAW fuse block.

As far as the gauges go, the AAW had provisions for temp gauge and something else (I forget what) so I eliminated a few wires because I will be getting all the signals from the ECM through the OBDII/Data port (BIM module.) As an option you can add the Dakota Digital sensors to the engine and would need some of the AAW forward harness .

I also used AAW on my 56 rebuild and what impressed me most was their help line.

Very knowledgeable and ready to research things to help me out.

I would use them again in a heart beat.

The ECU only needs a 12 volt source & ground. The rest is as any other harness. Just tie to the wires coming out of the ECU to the right spots and your good.

I used the Speed hut (www.speedhut.com) gauges in my 71. GPS speedometer and it works great.

My Driver Seeing the USA in a 71 Upstate SC GM Truck Club 2013,14 and 2016 Hot Rod Pour Tour http://upstategmtrucks.com/ Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun! It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
