Manual Trans question
Anyone know if you can replace an input shaft in a np435 without tearing the entire transmission down? Thank you in advance

Re: Manual Trans question
Haven’t rebuilt one myself, but here’s a rebuild article that may answer the question.

Re: Manual Trans question
Nope, the input shaft has to be removed from the inside, it will not slip through the front hole, just like about any other manual trans

Re: Manual Trans question
Not possible as cluster needs to drop down then the shaft removed.
Always best process to do full seal and bearing kit when doing any repairs. Not hard job. Why do you need to replace the input shaft?

Re: Manual Trans question
Its been a long time since I worked on one but I think It can come out the front without disassembling the trans or dropping the counter gear down.
Tip the trans. forward so the rollers wont fall into the case. George |
