Old Steel car show 2024 The GM Trucks.

The Old Steele car show was at the Central Washington Agriculture museum today and had a bunch of cars and trucks. One of my first students when I started teaching auto mechanics in 1978 had his Black Super Bee out there and that car is just about as close to perfect as you can get. He did all the work on it. Another former student had his Mustang there too. Those are the guys who used to ask me what I won on mondays after I went to a car show because they knew if I won a door prize of wax, or polish or Armorall that it was up for grabs.

Most of the AD and TF trucks are ones I have shown before.

This COE has is set up like a lot of orchardists used to haul fruit to the warehouse before they started using straddle buggies or semis to haul it.

The little John Deere Crawler on the back may be a Lindeman conversion That was done here in Yakima for a number of years, They took John Deere Wheel tractors and made crawlers out of them Primarily for orchard work.

The Black AD is a new one to me and may be a fresh truck. LS power, bagged and pretty decent.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Side shot of the black truck, The "SoCal" truck showed up last summer. I'm not sure what's connection to SoCal speed shop is if there is one. The Red GMC is a new one that I haven't seen before and almost the same color as another local truck.

Re: Old Steel car show 2024 The GM Trucks.

A few shots of the Green AD with the Mural on the back that I saw last weekend. I got to talk to the owner and he and the truck have quite a history.

It was his high school rig in the 80's and he Put the front end from a Mustang II under it and ran the MII 2300 4 banger and transmission in it for several years. Lots more V8 power now though.

The seat is out of an early 80's Cad Eldorado. Redone by a local upholstery shop by the signature touches that are on it.

He and his dad hand made the cover for the bed and the strip down the center that matches the hood strip is flat bar that he ground the angles on.

Re: Old Steel car show 2024 The GM Trucks.

A club of late model lowrider trucks had some nice trucks out in the back row.

I'm thinking that the 41/47 flatbed belongs to the Museum.

Then a bit of OT time. Mike was one of my first students the first day I started teaching in 1978 and Owned and ran his own shop for a number of years and now takes on one customer rig at a time for full redo. This is one of his cars and he is hard core Mopar. As my daughter said as she walked around it, that car is perfect. The black paint has depth you can't believe. Full rotisserie build with most everything done himself.

A few TF trucks. The door handles on the one look like some that a friend of mine used to install back in the 80's and 90's.

Re: Old Steel car show 2024 The GM Trucks.

Artie's GMC packs a blown 302 and he drives it everywhere.

The blue GMC looks to be sitting on a later model frame and they snuck the later model bed and fenders in on me.

The Yellow and black truck is pretty much business in the front and party in the back as the back of the bed has had a lot of custom work.

Re: Old Steel car show 2024 The GM Trucks.

A mixed bag, Nice short bed and the 30's truck was pretty decent.

Now when was the last time you saw a 59 El Camino with a 348 Tri power and 4 speed. Nifty truck that looked to have original paint and was parked with a 59 rag top.
