I had a 1959 b61 with a 673 and a duplex. had a 20 jerr dan bed on it. asshole lot owner scrapped it saying I was never there to work on it to get it running and out of his lot, till I showed him all the receipts for the new injector box and pics of me doing the wiring. yea I should have slapped the **** out of him right there. well that's what happens when a friend says he has a spot for you at a yard he works in. never leave your truck anywhere but home with you and a shotgun next to it.

That sure sucks. The guy didn't have a phone? Seems a phone call would have been in order. I can relate. I lost my '71 C/30 NAPCO pretty much the same way.Well,he said,"Maybe the junk man took it",but I know that's a lie. Yeah right. He went ahead and loaded a running cab & chassis without asking first and he didn't notice? Effin liar! The business did used truck body/reconfigurations. I had him remove the utility bed I had sold and was supposed to be looking for a single wheel contractor dump/hoist set-up for it. I know he gave it to this one slime ball that worked there on Saturdays as pay

I love the oddballs! Especially a Diamond T. My best friend in elementary school's dad was an excavating contractor and he ran a Diamond T /lowboy much like the one shown. He's have us go out and bleed out the air and we'd hand him wrenches when he worked on it...ah memories

I had started a Big Rigs picture thread in General Discussion back when this "Heavy Haulers" message board didn't exist. I think a staffer should move it over here now. There's also a C40-C90 picture thread in the 67-72 Trucks board that really outta be over here now, where it will be appreciated more and kept alive.

Nice looking Diamond-T's.

I was recently thinking the same thing, we should move a couple of those interesting threads over here, especailly the C40 - C90 one you have mentioned. That one is one of the best ones we've ever had.

Re: Erly Spring Morning

I never have luck finding threads, but it was back to the top recently. Someone with more luck (or 'puter wisdom) should nab that up and link it here. Or,better yet...have staff move that sumbugger here (if they agree it should).
That second Diamond T (logger) looks like a Safeway truck. Did they sell store brand tooth picks?

I would think many of you have saved links to these random
threads from the past and, yes, it would be great to keep moving them over
here to a central location.

It would be super great that whenever you guys run across these big-guy
threads, report them to the mods (use the little triangle) and simply ask it be moved.

Your help, through reporting them, would help all of the staff immensely...we simply
have way too many things to keep track of already to be very efficient in finding them.

That one that I think I named "Pic Thread:Big Rigs" was in General Discussion.

EDIT: It was titled "Trucks Are Beautiful" and I posted a link a few posts down.

In my case,I know a guy who lives next to the slime ball (Mike) who I figured got it. This was back in '92. This guy was into 67-72 4wds,which I already knew. My friend was telling me about this K/20 frame Mike had in his shop, how it had like a 4" rear driveshaft and it was an automatic with like 4.10s and how bad it would be on gas. I said,"Shoot,my old one had 4.57s and an automatic I swapped in it". That got me wondering if it was my old truck we were talking about. I gave him my VIN and asked him to get the one off the frame when he got a chance. I also said it should have dual Monroe Gas Magnums on front and a few other things I did. The cab was rusty anyway and I figured I'd let him get it all restored, then when he pulled it out I'd walk up with my title and thank him for restoring my truck. That chance never came because any time Galen went over Mike would hastily step out if the shop and pull the door down. He knew I had been going over to Galen's quite a bit. I couldn't get a search warrant on a hunch and Galen was acting like he didn't want to get too involved cuz he lived right next to this ex-con slime ball thief. One day he told me they loaded it up and took it somewhere else. I still have the title and sold the snow plow blade to my sandblaster guy to rig up on his skid loader, single the other 1/2 went with the truck. The real b!tch about is was I had scraped and scrounged all the parts and completely rebuilt that NAPCO stuff and the HO72. I slapped a freshly rebuilt Quadrajet and new battery when I ran it over to the shop to have them pull the utility bed, since it had been sitting a while. It had a N.O.S. grille & dash pad, dual batteries and alternators, and a bunch of other good parts I had put in it.

You guys did a great thing by pulling all the right stringes on this Trucks Are Beautiful thread. I had no idea it was out there. Thank You so much, it will keep me busy a long time. Looks like it all started with a few Diamond T pics.

Yep,you're a great contributor to this area of the website and I'm sure you've inspired more here than just me. By this evening I'll be up in PA at the ATCA national show through tomorrow. Lots of N/E style trucks there. About as far away in the US truck spectrum from the western haulers as it gets.

Yes. Mack used that name and used "Dyne" on many model names. Here's a later Superdyne...this one's the last year they were made:

Re: Early Spring Morning

For a newer style truck, Mack hit it's high point with the Superliner, in my opinion. That is one fine example. I don't think we'll ever see anything that nice again.
