I am looking for alt brackets for a 69 72. 350 motor need the alt bracket on the driver side.

There is more than one type, can you post a pic of the one you need and you'd be better served on the parts board.

No one makes the factory bracket for the 1969--72 chevy trucks.Its all aftermarket.The pics he has are mine shimming with a wrong water pump starts you down the road of wore out water pump bearings to braking belts.There are 4 ways to go about the alt problem 1 do it the right way. 2use the older modal alt brackets from the 1967 chevy truck that got it from the 1960--66 But you need the exhaust manifold to make it work the brackets are still being made.You need to change the Big water pump to the small one.Ya i know then your belts don't line up.There is a Fix there as well They make a 3 pulley to take up the room I've seen 4 pulleys as well.Going Cheap will cost you in the long run.
If you have a Alt system in place now by using the Nova bracket for the passenger side us it until you can find all the peaces to my my system work or GM's system work. I've given you the blue prints on what to look for to make this system work all you have to do is do some running around and find it and buy it.You might just get lucky enough to buy the hole system for 100.00.I've bought 3 of them all pulleys and alt bracket Plus the guy gave me the Power steering pump with bracket. He got one of my 750 Holley's that i got from a old shop i cleaned up Got 15 of them that was 10 years ago.But the barter trade works |

there is another fix too, but you gotta go shopping in the corvette catologs and pay those corvette prices.
I dont know what you need or what you have but there is an alternator pully that is single groove but is about 3/8th of an inch thicker than the generic single groove pully. corvette gold, buy it now price is about 45-50 bucks. Last edited by mike16; 06-16-2017 at 02:16 AM. |
