Automatic Locking Hubs.

Someone told me that if I switch my automatic locking hubs off my 82 K10 and install the manual locking hubs i will not be able to shift into 4x4 on the fly while driving anymore. I will have to stop and shift the transfer case then start driving again. Is this true? I'm not talking about actually locking automatically I'm refering to transfer case shifting on the fly??

Re: Automatic Locking Hubs.

You can still shift on the fly. I drive with the hubs locked all winter, then just shift into 4HI as needed.

Re: Automatic Locking Hubs.

Totally wrong. As long as the hubs are locked it will be easier to shift into 4WD when moving than with the ****ty auto locking hubs.
