Santa came early - I got trucks this year!!

Just had these two delivered today! Both are from the mid-west and do not have great sheet metal, but they are nicely optioned trucks.
1) 1972 4X4 Suburban. 350/350/205, ps, pb, a/c, tilt, posi, cruise control.
2) 1972 Cheyenne swb 402/400, ps, pb, a/c, tilt, posi.

BTW, if anyone needs a good dependable shipper, let me know and I'll forward this guy's number to you. He's a friend of mine and very reasonable.

Re: Santa came early - I got trucks this year!!

Nice score on the SWB 72 Cheyenne 402 if all of those things are on the SPID. I have a 71 in the same configuration with the same options, and have probably seen mention of only 5 or so on this forum, HMN, Craigslist or EBay in several years of tracking C/K truck sales and resto projects. It is a very rare and desirable C-10 variant. What are your plans for it?

It's the real deal - original truck with SPID matching. TLM motor with some of the smog stuff still on it. SPID includes BB, stabilizer, tilt and positraction.

nice score on the shortbed but hey, lets give the poor old burb some love too. it's got some nice options on it that you don't see very often, and, i'm kinda partial to white 4x4 burbs

Thanks, guys. The short bed is a neat and rare truck, but the Suburban has potential to be a cool truck too. The previous owner had it since the early 90's and gave me a stack of receipts where he meticulously maintained the drivetrain - engine, brakes, ball joints, etc. The body is toast, but the running gear should be good. I've got a nice 2wd 'Burb that I'm seriously considering swapping the body with.

That 'Burb is good bones for a body swap/4wd conversion (factory)

Smile Re: Santa came early - I got trucks this year!!

my local wrecking yard has a 69 or 70 panel with what looks to be a decent body mounted on a later suburban 4x4 frame. supposed to be a good running 350 in it and they will let it go for a grand. that panel body on your sub frame=instant "rare"truck !!!!!!!!!

I'm not a 2wd shortbed guy like so many others are... that suburban is a sweetheart in my book. Sounds like you've got good plans for what is salvageable on it!
