parking brake
Can anyone tell me what is the correct length for the parking brake cable on a 69 step side c10 the cable that connect to both e-brakes

A piece of string routed thru the loops will give it to you.

Same topic but different question. How do you remove the parking brake rod on the passenger side of the frame?
On the driver side there is the cable that goes to the parking brake lever but on the opposite side from it there is a rod that the cable threads through and the other end goes to chassis. As far as I can tell the rod is peened over on both ends and does not have a nut or screw on either end. I am stripping the chassis so that I can sandblast it and paint it. |

My truck hasn't had an E brake in the 21.5 years I've owned it. I just purchased everything from handle to rear shoe. All I've got to go by is the picture from LMC. And this other picture.

thanks for the information everyone.
What I determined was that the factory had peened over both ends of the rod. So my solution was to cut off one peened end. When I go to reassemble the emergency brake cables I will just thread the cut off end and use washers and nuts to secure it. |
