Brake pedal swap from manual trans to auto trans

Can anyone get me pointed in the right direction in regards to the brake pedal in my 1966 C10. My C10 was a 3 on the tree and I'm putting a 700R4 in it. I want to eliminate the clutch/brake pedals and put an automatic brake pedal in it. What works as a good swap for a 1966? I guess I could use the original brake pedal and remove the clutch pedal but I like the looks of the bigger pedal in the automatics. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=101 - A couple of us have done this with Camaro peddles welded onto the current brake pedal.
You have to move it over to the left a ways to fit, I used a piece of metal to bolster the backside.

The factory brake pedal in an automatic truck, has clutch pedal removed. Other wise the same.
Will post photo of 66’ C20 brake pedal set-up. No wide pedal thru 66’.

As aotte1 stated the 60 - 66 C-10's didn't have a large brake pedal from the factory. Whether you had a stick or an automatic you only got the same small brake pedal. Rocknrod's how to pictures are better than mine but I'll post what I got. In the first picture the 64 pedal is on the left the donor pedal from a 73 C-10 on the right. I stole the idea from doobiebro. To complete the look I added a suspended gas pedal from a 72 Nova.

Ok 64shortbox, are you saying that I can use the same brake pedal rod that is in my 66 now but cut off the small foot pad and weld a big foot pad off of a donor pedal out of an automatic truck from the early 70's? Not sure what the technical terms are for those?

That's what we did. Like he said, they don't make one with a larger foot (pedal) in our years. You have to make your own.

Nice, I like that, my 10 EEE boot is a bit snug between the pedals.

i have to do the same to my pedal also, move it over, im going to keep the small pedal and just heat and bend the arm and weld in a piece of metal to take up the distance to get it over a few inches

Re: Brake pedal swap from manual trans to auto trans

Hey Fellas,
My son and I are restoring a 68' LWB and plan to do a front end 5 lug disc brake conversion with auto trans on the project. Was wondering if any of you know whether or not a auto pedal assembly from a 73' will work?
Thanks!

I'd probably ask in that year series forum here:
