Soft shackles. What do you think?

I’m used to D-rings and needed another set but thought I’d try soft shackles instead. Seem handy but really stiff in the single digit temps today. Anyone use these? Work good?

Re: Soft shackles. What do you think?

I bought a set to keep inside my bug at the dunes. Had to use them a couple times last year and while skeptical when hooking up the tow line to the shackles, I've come away impressed and will buy again for other vehicles.

Pick of just the bug, but it was towed out by a Chevy both times

Re: Soft shackles. What do you think?

I will only use soft shackles unless there is a sharp metal edge which requires a metal D ring.
Here in the southwest and Baja we do lots and lots of recoveries and the soft shackles have a much higher load rating than metal.
The only issue is if you live in mud, then you will need to use a bucket of water to clean them and get the dirt from inside the fibers.
