Today, Dad started tackling the rear control arms...

...while I prepped the A-pillars and brow for final primer/paint.

Re: Bringing the '65 back to life

There is still quite a bit to do on the cab, but I'm starting to see the light at the end of this tunnel. Hoping to have the cab back on the frame before long.

Re: Bringing the '65 back to life

Thanks, Don.

All seam sealed and ready for the final coat of primer. Dad also pressed the bushings out of the rear control arms and picked up the steel we'll need to box them today.

Re: Bringing the '65 back to life

All the new lighting in the shop has made a world of difference when it comes to laying down nice flat coats.

The plan is to get back to it Thursday morning.

Love the way everything is coming together. I just ordered my LMC rockers and cab corners. I hope they turn out okay!

Re: Bringing the '65 back to life

We installed the front crossmember this morning. Once the new balljoints arrive, we'll install the control arms.

Dad cleaned up the trailing arms, then I stitch-welded them up while he cut the steel we'll use to box them.

Coated in zinc (weld thru) for rust protection.

Re: Bringing the '65 back to life

We were supposed to go look at a built, but wrecked, LS1 Vette this morning, but that deal may have fallen through. Instead, we spent the day making sparks in the shop. Both trailing arms are now plated top and bottom.
