seat upholstery and flooring

It is almost time for me to replace the bench seat upholstery and add something to the floor, (just bare metal now). Thinking of going with the black vinyl flooring.

I was looking at the stuff from LMC and the prices seemed reasonable. Anybody ever use their stuff? Any recommendations on another place to buy from?

Thanks

Re: seat upholstery and flooring

As far as seat covers try Capt. Kaos on here, beat everyone’s price, great customer service. I’m not at all impressed with LMC service. No one that answers the phone even remotely has a clue, same as their “ technical department “

Re: seat upholstery and flooring

Just bought and installed Vinyl flooring from www.73-87chevytrucks.com (CaptKaos - member) and it is a good fit and VERY heavy duty. Very happy with that. A bit of a pain to install, but worth it.

I ended up using a seat cover from RuffTuff.com, (bought through daniels-auto-fashions.com) and it is a Cordura cover, and also VERY heavy duty. Probably one of the best seat "covers' i have ever seen as far as build quality.

However if I had more money at the time I was buying, I would have probably considered custom upholstery from ricksupholstery.com . Looks like some very nice work for reasonable prices.

Here are pics of my floor and seat cover.

I used their colored vinyl flooring in my '92 Dodge. Good quality and fair price.

Re: seat upholstery and flooring

Stock Interiors does have very nice seat upholstery. But be aware, there will be a wait time while the cover is made. They do not stock seat upholstery.

USA1 Industries are the same. Very Nice upholstery, but there will be a wait time, while the cover is made.

Classic Industries have very nice upholstery and most are in stock.

LMC upholstery are nice for the money, as they are lower priced than the ones above.

So here's my opinion, since I have used all of them.
Go with either Stock Interiors or USA1 if you can wait for the cover to be made.
If you want it NOW, Classic Industries.
If money is an issue, go with LMC. They do have nice covers of the money, as stated above. It's just their color selection is pretty GENERIC. But if you going with Black, then there won't be an issue. But I will say, if I had to choose between Classic Industries & LMC, I would choose Ci's.

Re: seat upholstery and flooring

If you want super nice original or custom covers, use Gold Vendor here, Truckseats. They did my Buddy Bucket covers and they are awesome. My truck has Green interior and I had a hard time finding the right color vinyl. I went to an upholstery supply company in Dallas and found the colors I needed, talked to Larry, he told me how many yards of material to buy, I sent it to him and he stitched up my covers that fit perfectly, returning to me the extra material. I then had him make door panels and headliner for the truck and they were just as good.

Re: seat upholstery and flooring

That is one SWEET interior!! I'm in the process of having a GREEN Bench Seat upholstery cover made. I can't wait to get it and see what it looks like on the bench.

Re: seat upholstery and flooring

Wow, great info from you all! Those are two beautiful interiors, great jobs!

I am looking at just plain black, stock style upholstery. My seat is in great shape aside from the driver side being torn. Probably from years of sliding in and out of the truck. Foam appears to be perfect. I have a cheap $20 seat cover on it now.

I will check out all the places mentioned before I make a decision.

I gotta say, with all the awesome trucks on this site, it makes me a little nervous about posting pics of my jalopy, lol.

Thanks to everybody for all the great info.

Hey, don't feel bad. Mine is definitely a budget jalopy. I do have a few coin$ in it, but mostly sweat. I LOVE my truck, but it doesn't hold a candle to most of the trucks these other guys build!

I didn't go all out like most. Heck, I just clear-coated my old original paint. I like an old truck!

Re: seat upholstery and flooring

Nice! That works for me. I really like the two-tone. When it comes time to paint mine, I would like to do something similar.

Right now it has what was supposed to be temporary, satin black paint from Tractor Supply. I figured that would be better than gray primer until I finish everything else. Then the last thing I do is a decent paint job.

Gonna have to get the wife's help to show me how to post pics soon. I suck with all things electronic, lol.
