5.3L engine discription

I am making a car show sign for my Stepside. What would be the proper description of my motor for the sign. My motor is from a 2010 Silverado 5.3 L
would it be describe as 5.3L Vortec 5300, or 5.3L LMG ?
Sometimes call a Iron Block LS motor.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 5.3L engine discription

Most viewers will be more impressed if the engine date is included. Many folks won't even realize that a "vortec", "lmg", or "ls" engine wasn't the stock engine, but if you say the engine is a 2010, they will be more impressed.

I'd say a "2010 5.3 liter engine".

agreed.

or maybe '2010 5.3L Vortec Engine' to get real fancy.

Please don't mention LS...as it is not.

Re: 5.3L engine discription

-Its an LY5 unless its flex fuel then its an LMG.
-Anyone looking at your truck at a show will know what an LS motor is, the year it came from matters little.
-For sure call it an LS. Thats what everyone calls them. I even call the new LT1's LS's, because it is haha.
