What are you guys using to glue your Headliners up to the roof? I've gone through a bunch of old threads and it seems like liquid nails, silicone caulk, and 3M double sided trim tape are the leading contenders.

What have you used recently with success, or what should I not use? I thought about also putting up a couple of pieces of stick-on soundproofing and then glueing the headliner to that.

3M 77 spray should be good

3M 77 is great stuff, but I don't want to have to mask off the cab. I'm using Flex Glue. I'll be putting mine in either today or tomorrow.

Put the headliner in, with help from one of my sons. The headliner was kind of curved so that it would press against the cab roof. Of course, the temperature at the time may make a difference. I bought the headliner and trim from NPD. The trim had a lot of bare patches in the chrome. Fortunately, they were on the back side. We put it up and used the heels of our hands to pound the plastic trim clips into their slots, then installed the screws. It took us less than 60 seconds, just like the guys on the assembly line took.

We put some stuff on the seat in order to prop up the headliner until the glue completely cures, though we're not completely convinced that that was necessary. My wife expected me to repaint the inside of the cab before installing the headliner.

I posted this question a few months back with problems of it not staying where I put it with the adhesive. Still have yet to put it back in as it sits next to the desk in my office. Silicone is going to be my choice of adhesion

77 isnt what you want to use. If your using spray cans the 3m 90 is a better choice , personally I use Dap weldwood HHR Landau top adhesive. You can get it in gallons to spray or in spray cans .

Never tried anything else I use what has worked for me for 40 years

This is what I use and highly recommend. It’s for high heat, which you will get on the roof of your vehicle. I have done several headliners, and it’s the only stuff I’ll use.
I’ve tried that 3M stuff in the past once, never touched the can again.

Could a person use these proucts to glue really strong thinner magnets to the back side of the headliner and put it up that way?

Someone here posted that they did use magnets, but I don't remember who, atm.
