1993 chevy surging

I have a 93 chevy 350 with r700 tranny automatic and sometimes inbetween gears it surges the rpm revs up and down unless I give it more gas and it shifts kinda hard but if I don't give it more gas it just keeps surging, what could cause this? By the way I'm new here

Re: 1993 chevy surging

Welcome to the board.

Unless the transmission has been swapped, your 1993 should have a 4L60E if it is a 1500 series.

It sounds like a transmission overhaul is coming soon.
