Interchangability of Beds

Hi.

This may be a very simple question and my common sense says it can be done, but I just have not done it before and I want to make sure.

My son is looking at a 1998 Chevorlet 1500 extended cab pick up with the step side bed. He wants to switch it to the Fleetside bed.

He has access to a 6.5 foot long fleetside bed and wants to put it on the step side bed truck.

1. Will this work without any modifications?

Thank you.

Re: Interchangability of Beds

He will need the fuel filler for the fleet side bed.

The plastic on the top of the rear bumper will be a few inches short on each end. That part is minor.

I would have never thought of the filler neck until it was too late. Thank you.

Yep. I'll second this. These are the only differences that will matter when it comes to the swap.
