what outside mirrors 1974 C20

I'm going to replace these big Tow Mirrors with something less ugly on my 1974 C20. The SPID calls for D29 Below Eye Line mirrors. What did the D29's look like? Were they stainless, chrome or painted? Also I've seen the D45 stainless mirrors with a single post called "below eye line mirror". I've also seen "Sport Mirrors" as a '74 option mirror.....I guess what I'm asking is-What mirrors were available for '74? Anybody have an old accessory book that shows them? Thanks

I can't help, but far as I know below eyeliner is the "dumbo" mirrors as everyone calls em . Bigger square, like 5x3 or so. I want those mirrors BAD!!

I do not know which mirror came on the C20. I have these on my 74 C10, sport mirror.

Thanks for the information. Now I can't decide between the below eyeline or the sport mirror......

Dumbo's were standard.

Camper / towing mirrors were an extra charge option.

'Sport' mirrors were a cost down. I know because my dad ordered our 1981 C20 that way - everything not involved in farm work was deleted or downgraded. Those sport mirrors made backing a load of hay into the barn a real challenge. And even they were subject to forced removal by trees when bringing a load of wood out of the swamp on an icy day.

The sport mirrors are hard to use sometimes. I had to get used to them but I did not like the large (west coast or dumbo) mirrors. They were too big and gawky for me. Now I have no problems.

Heres my '74 with camper/towing mirrors. Just have to be careful if you have standard width garage doors.

Re: what outside mirrors 1974 C20

Per the 1973 & 1974 vehicle info packet from the GM Heritage Center the standard mirror was chrome fixed arm with 5 1/2" x 4" head.

This is a screen shot of the 1973 info packet for the mirror options;
