Barrett/Jackson Scottsdale

Started up tonight on Motor Trend TV, formerly the Velocity channel. As always, lots of good looking cars and trucks. I just saw a guy give 80g for a ford unibody truck. He wanted it baaaaaaaad. I am amazed at how much some guys are willing to spend on them.

Talking Re: Barrett/Jackson Scottsdale

I've seen most of those pictured. I've been stay up late watching it. They said somebody paid 2.5 Mil for Cuda!

I'm just wondering who has that kind of crazy as money? I sure wish I did.

I saw the Ford unibody and was like your either crazy are you have some kind of connection with that truck. It wasn't like it was all that great pretty much just a plain truck it looked great but dang man that's some crazy money.

Maybe I need to sell my junk!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Barrett/Jackson Scottsdale

As the crew noted it seems like most of the really good cars are now going for at least 100g. The fully restomodded black 67 vette with roadster shop chassis and LS7 sold for 300g. A piece o gold that one.
And how bout Craig buying the right to the very first 2020 mustang something. It was a charity auction but he paid $1,100,000 for it. And several others like Ron Pratt who bought cars and relisted them right there to raise even more for the charity. Jeff Gordon's vette was one. Ron paid 400, then reauctioned it for 200 more for Jeff's child cancer research. Some big hearted car enthusiasts for sure. As usual the nicer cars run through later in the week. Today ought to see some real nice, high dollar cars go through.

Re: Barrett/Jackson Scottsdale

I watched for a little bit last night and its going to sound weird coming from a real car and truck dork ... I find it kind of boring. Its easy to start doing something else, and the next thing you know its just noise in the background.

I know why they don't do it this way, but I would like it if they took all of our truck models and ran them through at one time, and then, OK everyone here comes the Barracudas.

Re: Barrett/Jackson Scottsdale

I agree, some folks got a whole lot of fruit jar money (thats what it takes when financing is not an option). I was logged on watching auction live as I have been toying with idea of adding a Camaro / Chevelle / Nova / Impala (61 -67) to the family.

Truck prices were not the only ones above my pay grade. Heck, I couldn't afford the VW Bus.

Re: Barrett/Jackson Scottsdale

One thing that bothers me is when you see something about to cross the block maybe the next, or second car/truck back and they have to take a "break". When they come back they may or may not tell you what you missed. Mecum is really bad about this.
All of these ride's prices are inflated though and the prices we see paid don't even include the premiums added as a percentage to the hammer price. I almost can't afford to watch them on TV!

Could be. Wouldn't be any good adding water to radiator or relieving yourself with a hole in the bottom.

Re: Barrett/Jackson Scottsdale

Is it just me or does anybody else ever notice how many vehicles cross the auction block with one brake light out. Out here on the street I can go months and months without seeing a brake light out. At auctions there are dozens. What are the odds of that?

I'd just like to go to talk to the Sweet girl in the leather pants, that writes the prices on the sold stickers

BUT (LOL) I didn't watch any BJ this round, so I don't really know if she was there...
