Engine Mount Questions

Hello all! I have a question I'm ashamed to even have to ask, but here I am. I've got a '65 that I'm putting an LS1 and 4l60e in. I'm using the Dirty Dingo slider mounts and I feel like I've read in my searchings that I can use my original engine perches (SBC V8) and the rubber engine mounts from the same SBC V8. I must be reading something wrong because I can't get the bolt holes in the perches to line up with the forward 2 holes in the frame. I know I have to drill a new hole in the crossmember. It just seems like the engine perches are too wide to line up with the holes in the frame. Any input? I've tried to attach four pictures for reference...hopefully it works.

If I understood correctly, you need the spacers on the Frame.
For me, a '62, it was like that.

Bhap: I do have the countersunk bolts that attach the base plate to the block. Although, in one of the pictures, it does look deceiving. I'll double check that to make sure.

Braunschweiger: Maybe that's where I misinterpreted the instructions. I was thinking the spacer was only needed for the 60-62 but that just might solve my problem. Thanks for the recommendation.

The 60-62 frames are shorter than the 63-66 frames at that section, so that's probably where that spacer comes in to play.

Are both sides that far off from lining up?

I can get both bolts in one side or the other but when I do that, I have to fight to even get one bolt in on the other side. It's like the rubber mounts are too thick and causing the perches to sit too wide on the frame rails.

Are you using the original 63-66 frame mounts? It looks like you're trying to use the further forward holes in the frame. I'm not sure if that impacts anything, but maybe it does?

I am using the original 63-66 V8 engine perches. I did just read on the Dirty Dingo website that they mention using the 67-72 engine perches with the sliders and the rubber mounts that I'm using. Maybe there's a difference in the perches and that's what causing my issue.

Bigmoe: Thank for remiding me. I'll probably post there too and see if I can get some guidance.
