Your not alone! My current struggle. Just acquired my first pair of glasses with progressive lenses. Really hoping it helps. Haven't done any shooting yet, as am still learning how to walk!! Lol

good luck!
One needs to be able to shoot with their everyday vision, glasses or no glasses.

I had cataract surgery last year. Now I see great at distances without glasses for the first time in my life (that I can remember). Inside about four feet, things get fuzzy. But I can still shoot MOBG (minute of bad guy) or MOCB (minute of charging bear).

I'm thinking about trying some nail polish on my front sight .....

I sure hope you can get used to those lens. Such a darn good idea. I really tried to make progressives work, but I could not get used to them. Careful going down stairs!

I tried contacts - I couldn't get used to them. Since I can still see OK at a distance, it's just the front sight on my pistols that becomes blurry (OK, maybe invisible...). That's why my daily carry now is an M&P Shield 2.0 with the integrated Crimson Trace.

Someone makes hi-vis sights with green dot dovetails and orange dot front sight that look like they’ll help. Can’t remember who, I need to dig.

Re: Hey gun nuts!

How about anything sentimental?? Something you would never get rid of??
I've gotten rid of a few over the years, and big time regret it. My new motto, buy never sell...

This was my dads 59 bearcat. He bought it new for $23. First gun ever purchased. This was my first gun i ever shot. The first gun my daughter ever shot. . Definitely will be hers someday. My dad was a lefty and tooled this cool rig also..

This next one is a work in progress. Early 70's Ithaca m49 saddle gun. Brother and i got it as kids. Hes no longer here, but we blasted many a squirrel or any thing moving or not lol. It had a rough life as you can see.. paid a fella several hundred a few years back to restore it. Totally unhappy with the results, so currently tackling it myself. The receiver is aluminum. So lots of filing.. Anyway, it holds alot of memories. Probably not worth $200 when done, but priceless if you know what I mean.

I battled for 20 minutes, couldn't get the contacts in. The lady im sure thought i was ridiculous lol. Yes that or similar might be my future. The green from red on my 1911 seemed to help some..

I've got one of those. Paid $25 to a neighbor around 1975 after he bought it and decided he really didn't want it. It's my kids' starter gun but it's still a little too long and heavy for the grandkids.

Always been my motto, except for a couple that I inherited and really have no use for (but I do know how to use them ). Still have them and figure it's a rainy day fund.

I'm getting to the point where I need to start thinking about passing things on to the younger generations.

Best kind of gun, one with history and good memories. I refinished an old single shot .410 for a friend a few years ago, it wasn't nearly as easy as I thought it would be. But it turned out nice. Hope to see this one again when you're done.

Re: Hey gun nuts!

I don't sell any more either but I'd probably trade most any of them for something else if something more interesting came along. Except this one, it's the first gun I bought. Maybe 1990 or 1991? Browning Buckmark Plus. When you're young and need a cheap hobby this was my best friend. Back then you and a friend could split a brick of Remington Thunderbolt ammo for about $5 each, shoot all afternoon, and still take a box home if you wanted. You can see the finish is gone around the grip heel of the frame.

Big time sentimental value here also! This was the first handgun I ever shot. Love the leather! Your dad was pretty clever. I made a knife sheath once, would be embarrassed to show it off.

Not to that point, but definitely already know where several will go. The wife will definitely get to sell a few since since i convinced her of the "investment" on a few haha. Coarse only if im not around to see 😀
