73-87 C10 3d Model for renderings (Modeling progress)

So if you dont know what a 3d model is you can check out the links in my sig to see past work. Basically I model a 3d version on a vehicle in a program called 3d studio max then I use that as a base to make renders.

Since ive had so many people ask about square bodies I figured it was finally time to model one. I will be posting the progress in here just like I did for my 60-66 model.

Ill need your help making the model accurate. If anyone could post photos of things like trim, grill, mirrors, lights, badges etc, it would help tons. Things that would be hard to see on regular photos and close ups work good.

Also if anyone has line drawings or blueprints of the square body that I dont have that would help tons too!

I dont have anything started yet but will have something posted later today.

To anyone that can help with photos thanks!

Stay tuned!

Chad.

I'm in for one for my '75. Sending PM shortly. Here is a link to a page on my site that has GM line drawings for the 73-80 range. Should help some.

Thanks!

At the moment I wont be taking any render requests for this until I have everything finished, just to keep things simple.

Any idea when you'd be done and ready for rendering to be done? Also, how much would it cost? I'm very very interested. You can send me a private message too if you'd like.

Wow just looked at the finished works of art post! Very impressive!

If you need any details for 78 stepside let me know - glad to help out. Maybe you could do a rendering of a working brake system since I'm having trouble with that vision in my head lately lol

I'm subscribing to this for sure

Re: 73-87 C10 3d Model for renderings (Modeling progress)

It will take me around 40 hours to model the exterior of the truck, so prob around a week or so to finish.

I posted above for interested people to hold off on emails for the moment until the model is done so as not to confuse things on my end, lol. Anyone who has already sent me an email I will not respond until the model is done, but I will respond

Im sure ill need some reference photos when I get to the stepside! Ill post up when I need a certain item at the time im modeling it.

Thanks for the interest as well to anyone watching.

Got a small update on the body of the 73. Still blocking things out at the moment.

I'm so glad you decided to go ahead and model the squares. I'm sure you will be really busy with them too! You know you have an email coming from me when you're done.

I know you are in the early stages of design...but it appears the top of the wheel well, front and rear, need to come up a little (they are too low). Just sharing in case its easier to do now versus later. Nice work so far!

You were right... and wrong, haha. The fenders were short, but it was because I needed to pull the bottom of the body down, not the fenders up :P Same concept tho, haha.

I think I got it a little closer now, but I tweak everything all the time as I go along so still lots of changes

But this is the kind of criticism I need to make the model more accurate so dont hesitate to pick it apart (As much as I hate it, haha) But its for the best interest of the model, lmao
