I am working with the same issue with mine right now.
I am going to machine a cover plate from aluminum I will share a picture when I

Use the search function and enter the words "smoothing the firewall" and you will find a few more ideas.

This is in the works, had planed on getting a bulkhead but just look at it as another place to leak.
