Now my buddy will not touch the truck.lol He said I don't want my name on that truck now because the quality of work leaves much to be desired. The owner is happy and thats all that matters and he is moving on. My painter buddy is right the quality of the paint job is not what I could live with but its not my ride. I help him out whenever he needs help and keep my mouth closed because he is much further along then me.lol

The quality of the build shows in the details, sometimes I wish I didn't care so much about details but I do.lol A small wave looks like an ocean to me and I can see a drip from a mile away. Its a dang curse. Hotrod1 can tell you how bad it is.lol He's been with me while I look at cars and told me he did not notice things I saw.lol
BAM is right. He is a perfectionist and I like that. I am learning from him as I have the propensity to be the same. Sometimes you just dont see things until someone like BAM points them out. From then on, i will see those issues and then better my ride. The one down side is that it takes longer to get things done.

If I had to look at something that I was not happy with every day, it would drive me crazy. I cant tell you how many times I have started over on something after spending days of fabing it.

Well, this is where being 73 (or 57 in my case) kinda-sorta "helps" you out. Not only are my eyes not quite as good as they once were ,but I also have a little bit of the old man's feeling I should get on with it. YOu only go around once and I may be coming around the final turn already for all I know!!

I'm only partly kidding. I definitely want my truck MY WAY. But "my way" is picky-as-a-'mutha about one thing, and probably too tolerant things that would make another guy's teeth itch!

Bottomline is, does it make you happy? Do you take pride in what you've done? In the end it doesn't really matter if someone else loves it, it wins the AMBR, or it just makes YOU smile when you walk up to it. At least that's my opinion - and we all know what those are worth, huh?

Well guys as promised, I finally sprayed a test panel (glove box door) and showed it to the wifey to get her opinion. She liked it a lot and so do I, but what do you guys think?

No booth yet but I will be doing that when I paint the truck. Thanks man, color is the hardest choice and I'm glad that I really like this color or it would have been back to the paint supply for me.lol That gold tint that you can see in the close up pic really makes it pop in the sun.

I like it but some might say that I'm partial to green.
Looks good. Is it a custom mix?

Nope its a factory color. Your truck looks great so its okay to be partial to green.

Thanks buddy for sharing your opinion.

Factory is good, especially when it comes to matching for a repair. I still need to have more "emergency paint" mixed.

Looking forward to seeing some color on that truck.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Thanks guys,

That is lower line paint, we no longer can get the good solvent base stuff here in Cali. Its a waterbase state now and all I'm able to get from my jobber is limco, Nason, and Omni. This paint is Nason basecoat and Nason clear. With the cheaper lines of paint you may have to use more for coverage depending on the color. That was 3 coats of base coat and 3 coats of clear. I must say that the base coat laid down nice and even and the clear coat laid down like glass. It looks so wet my wife was afraid to touch it.lol
