pinion pre load ?
what is the purpose of pre loading the pinion bearing if your using a dummy bearing.Is it to set up the backlash etc. on carrier ? Just trying to do a 12 bolt chev truck 5 stud on a 1980. I could understand pre loading new bearings but when they use a dummy bearing I didn,t understand why you would pre load it and not use the new bearing instead.
