Make the time to see your friends.
Today I made arrangements to have lunch with a best friend. We don't get to see each over very often but he was in town and I met him for lunch. It was just a short visit but was nice to see him.
I think it's important to make time to see people, especially in this age of texting. We had a nice chat, laughed and joked a bit. The food was pretty good too. |

Re: Make the time to see your friends.
Good advice. We all need to be more intentional these days.

Re: Make the time to see your friends.
I have a small group of friends from college (like 10 of us stayed in the area) and anywhere from 2-6-ish of us get together on Monday nights. We take a monday off here and there, but it's been pretty regular for over 10 years now.
Helps keep you sane.

Re: Make the time to see your friends.
My friends are spread around with no one 'stop on by' close. My life is a series of cycles of getting by friend's places when they come to mind. I also have friends I only see at events, so I make sure I catch up with them when there. I also have one friend I always go to antique truck shows with. So we always see each other for that if not between. One thing I do is when I know a friend needs to get something done around their place I come over to help. That way I know I'm welcome there

Re: Make the time to see your friends.
I remember in the early '80s my friend, now brother in law, started wearing his hair military short (crew cut) back before it became a trend and only Mr Clean, Kojak, and Isaac Hayes had shaved heads. He is also a big guy. Everywhere he went people would ask, "What branch?", as if they were certain he was military and curious which branch. I mean like every day! And he dresses like a hillbilly
It's sad to see happen, but I'd say that WWII vet had a pretty good run of it making it this far. A shame to see cancer be what takes him though. My WWII vet father passed in '04 thanks to diabetes. I visited him a lot through the end.
