Man, it was a great day after a long drive home from work. A truck I missed out on 6 years ago (my neighbor saw it first and closed the deal on it back then) popped up for sale. Neighbor doesn’t drive it much and said it was time for it to move on. 1971 Custom/10, V8, 3 speed, with an uncut dash, new clutch and CPP disc conversion. My favorite part is the paint is originally orange with white roof. Factory AM radio is there too. Grew up around these trucks as a kid and finally got mine. Need passenger cab corner and both rockers, but otherwise a solid Northern California truck built down the road in Fremont. Just about finished with the wife’s ‘71 F250 (I know but she grew up with those and it was an immaculate one owner), so when I walked in and told her about this one she couldn’t say no!

Thanks for the welcome and working on the pics now.

Anyone know how to safely remove some crappy rattle can paint so I can get back to the orange and patina safely.

Re: New member NorCal ‘71 Custom/10

Finally got pics today I could upload. Needs work, but I wanted local (Fremont,CA) built, Orange/White, SBC truck that was pretty original. Price was very cheap (especially for California standards) so no once I get the boy moved to college in two weeks I can start the process!

Welcome rechinca! I'll be on the lookout for your truck around town. If you see a root beer brown/gold roof 72 fleetside driving around Vacaville, that would be me!
