700r4 conversion

I have a 350 trans and want to get a 700r4 but it seems that 700r4 4wd trucks are scarce in the boneyards. I want to get a 700r4 2wd trans and convert it to 4wd. can I take the tail end of the 350 4wd and put it on the 700 2wd end?

Re: 700r4 conversion

You will need to install a 4wd output shaft. I dont believe the 4wd 700r4`s have a tail shaft housing since they bolt to the transfer case.

Re: 700r4 conversion

I have a 700r4 that i am converting from 4wd to 2wd. I also live right up 84 from you if you are in Milford. I live right in warwick NY. If you had a 2wd currently i would swap you my 4wd trans.
