And the BP crate based on my earlier 90's purchased seemed like a good deal based on HP/TQ , warranty , money in pocket and time frame to get it installed. ( this was a daily driver for the most part at the time)

I have heard horror stories about the GM crate world as well, so I guess it is all about Luck of the draw.
There is no doubt about it, you just don't know till you run it. At least they stood by their warranty and took responsibility. I like to hear that. It's like you say, there is a horror story about every product out there. Hopefully I will be apart of the happy masses once I decide on a setup.

Thanks!

Re: Has anybody used this blueprint crate motor?

honestly take a look at skip white stuff, I am leaning towards the 421 or 427 SBC .

I can not recommend anything as I have not bought anything from him , but I see a lot of good comments on https://www.hotrodders.com/

so right now I am stuck in between the sbc big cube stroker or a BBC conversion .

Skip runs a big operation. I've heard good things too. I want stock(ish) heads for sure. I'm really looking for a bump above stock and I have an sm465. What caught my attention about this engine is the 383 storker numbers at a meager price. Still considering this engine. I feel like for the money whats to loose? The long block is probably the price of the heads on the engine your looking at!

+7cc 4 valve relief flat top pistons, eagle rotating assembly.
Summit brand vortec style heads 67cc chambers ( which are dart iron eagles )
I had the block decked to zero deck with a .039 head gasket.
My compression is 9.9 with no detination with my .039 quench.
Howard's flat tappet single pattern cam 221-221 @ .50 duration, .470-.470 lift
Edelbrock performer vortec intake and 600 cfm Holley carb.
Msd distributer
I had my motor broke in on a dyno, it made 333hp at 5300 and 388ft pounds at 3700.
I also put a 2000 stall in while I swapped motors
Huge difference from my old 350 that was in it.

My old one had +12cc pistons that were .045 in the hole with 65cc chambered heads that I put on and a comp xe256 cam. That motor started out at 7.75 compression with the original 882 heads. It went up to 8.5 with the head swap and combined with the comp cam make a good difference. But the new motor blows that away.
I would love to build another in the near future, it's kinda addicting but very expensive.
The only thing g on the new motor that was used was the block, everything else was bought new. Bolts and all. It really adds up. But well worth the experience.

The old motor would hardly bark the tires, this new one will smoke them at a 20 mile an hour roll with only 3.07 gear and 31in tires
