1969 Chevrolet 4X4 Deluxe Pick-Up

Saw this for sale over on "Bring a Trailer".

Not my truck or know anything about. It is fun to read a bunch of Mercedes and Porsche guys talk about an old Chevy Truck.

Some will need to be educated ;-)

Enjoy the read,

Re: 1969 Chevrolet 4X4 Deluxe Pick-Up

What's a '69 "Deluxe" truck? Never heard of those. Appears to be base model by the emblems, but has all the Custom CST touches except side trim. I'd like to know where they got those 71/72 factory scroll leather seat covers.

It's probably a 1972 cab....It has 1972 doors...Might explain why a 4 Wheel Drive has C20 badges...

It's a nice truck...but I have a hard time looking at trucks that are a hodge podge of pieces like this one...what's up with the metal behind the brake master cylinder. And...what's up with...a bunch of other stuff....

I imagine that the restoration included a lot of rust repair/replacement. Thus creating a "Franken truck ". It looks very nice though.

Re: 1969 Chevrolet 4X4 Deluxe Pick-Up

You guys just have no appreciation for a truck that was used to tow a Chris Craft boat (well twice a year anyway) or was it a Bayliner or a 10' jon boat. If I had any money (which I don't) and was looking for a truck (which I am not) I would run hard the other way from this one.

All base trim leave 20 series got that emblem in 69/70. There is no such thing as a K/20 emblem.

Truck is nice, sounds like yet another flowery poetic know nothing about what he have classic dealer. What I don't like is the Rhino-Liner, especially on the rocker to cover up the rust. At least for the price range I imagine they are hoping to get. You never know if these guys are lying (per reputation), don't know jack and are trying to sound like they do, or too much attention to embellishing their description than to it's content. They say the transmission and transfer case were installed 25 years ago when they are original to the truck. I guess they took them out and put them back in. Good thing. That'll help the value

I imagine it originally plowed snow, got retired and restored 25 years ago

Re: 1969 Chevrolet 4X4 Deluxe Pick-Up

Its a nice truck. Its an AC cab with no AC parts under the hood. The alternator is on the wrong side of the motor too.

Hey Tim, what brand hubs are these? The '69 I owned back in the 80's had these. My current '69 has Warn hubs.

Re: 1969 Chevrolet 4X4 Deluxe Pick-Up

Somebody went over this since '93. That engine is too clean. I wonder how old those tires are. It's a decent job for when it was done. Most reproduction parts we can run out and grab weren't available yet. Considering the time it was done, it is a tasteful job. There was no internet with forums that taught people what part was correct and how they came such as our members have. That was a lot of money considering the extreme high end for a quality restoration on a K/20 back then was about 1/2 what they spent
