Few trucks at a little show at the High School.

Every year the auto shop teacher throws a car show at a local high school (my mom graduated from this school in 1936 ) and it's always fun, band playing live music, BBQ, some cool cars and trucks.

The Suburban (did they call them that back then?) is always at the local shows, it's very nice. Check out the moulding that is painted on.

Maybe because a JERK I knew had one but I never liked these trucks, now, I dig them big time. And I never thought I would like this style, now, I dig it big time! This truck was the coolest.

Re: Few trucks at a little show at the High School.

It was so funny, ran into a guy I have known for 30 years, a musician and his son was playing in the band, that's why he was there. It was funny because when I saw him I thought what the heck is he doing there, he could give a crap about cars. LOL

Nice local times.

Where was that at? I have seen a couple of those in my area.
I was down in Morgan hill for a little show, about 100 cars.

Yeah it's a small little show but always nice, with live music throughout the day. There was maybe 50 cars.

Re: Few trucks at a little show at the High School.

Thank you for taking time to post these. I have been a fan of '59-'60 Chevy fullsize cars for many years. The Elky 4X4 looks somewhat out of place in today's world but would likely have been one of several 4X4 conversions at the show in the early '80s.

Yeah, the 59 is one of my favorites of all time for sure. It's just a shame he had the hood open, honestly, it was just a sbc, we have seen them, leave the hood closed unless it's something special.

The '59 Chevy and the '70-71 Monte both have room for twin V6 Buick turbos front to back. Or a Falconer if you wanna spend $$.

if ogre won the lottery he'd own every 58 chevy and of course the 59 elco
briefly tossed around the idea of adding the back half of a 58 chevy to truk, until i priced the back half of a 58

Re: Few trucks at a little show at the High School.

Nice!

In the mid '90s ago I met a man in Billings MT that had given up restoring '55-'57 Chevys to focus exclusively on '58s. The cars were worth more as fewer existed. He had a beautiful Impala of his own that was fully loaded including the in-dash record player. Sooo much chrome...
