Re: Sticky tape removal?
Bug and tar remover available at your local auto parts store works good. Will take time, I like to soak a rag with it and leave it on a few minutes to penetrate the goo. Then it's a lot of scraping with your fingernail... not a fun job but it works and won't hurt your paint.

Re: Sticky tape removal?
Being extremely careful not to blow yourself up!!! A little coleman fuel on a rag works wonders on alot of that high tech sticky stuff. Nail polish remover will remove paint.
Be very careful with coleman fuel! |

I've always used Ronsonol lighter fluid to take gooey stuff off.

Penetrating oil(wd-40,exe), rubbing alcohol to take off the penetrating oil residue.
...This is assuming that its just the soft tape or glue left on the truck. Its not gona work if the tape has dried rock hard and still stuck to the paint. |

Re: Sticky tape removal?
Heat the sticky tape with a heat gun and then soak them with bug and tar remover. The tape will then roll off using your thumb or finger.

Re: Sticky tape removal?
I like the eraser wheel.....also, 3M makes an Adhesive remover that should also be used with a lot of caution...quite flammable.
Biggest problem with the eraser wheel is having to clean up all the residue, but it's not a biggee, then you go over the area with some white compound and wax it and it should look almost like new.
