Does SMS Fabrics make fabric?

Just curious. I've heard some 12 month turn around times on some plaid patterns. Some builders say just "had this plaid material made." I always thought there was a finite amount of original fabric in a huge warehouse in Oregon. Do they actually knit it to spec? Just curious

Re: Does SMS Fabrics make fabric?

I think I answered my own question. SMS website says they "make" the blue highlander material. Doesn't mention olive, grey or orange. The big truck Duke the K50 crewcab was a hit at Sema. It's interior has ochre plaid that matches my 1973 beauville van and I've seen it on very few 73 cheyennes. I'd love to get a few yards. Following the build, he said he had it made.

Re: Does SMS Fabrics make fabric?

They must make it or someone else started. Because when I bought the blue plaid for my K/20 Highlander in '08 from them they had enough for my seat with not enough left over to do another. I'm pretty sure back then all they had was old stock. The way they talked, that was it for blue plaid.
